Eden drifts in and out of half-sleep, a novel in her lap that she'd been carrying in her purse. It doesn't hold her attention, though. The whole situation came out of nowhere, and she ran on pure adrenaline for those brief minutes before the ambulance arrived, then on stress in the waiting room. It's taken a surprising lot out of her, left her starting to crash. That he's alright makes it worthwhile, though. It's an adventure, she's told herself, something different to throw her week off its usual stride.
Eyes closed, she hears him shifting on the bed, not for the first time, though this time it continues longer. Blinking hard, she pushes herself to sit upright, groggy, pulling a deep breath into her heavy lungs. "Hey," she says. "Come on, you shouldn't do that."
